bristol gets kinda quiet on the week running up to glastonbury, but there’s no need to feel left out of the fun – fear not – bristol has its own alternative – GLOSTONBURY!

top writers get to it – left to right – china mike, richt, mr jago
no need for wellies and an hour’s trudge through the mud, the golden lion on gloucester road hosted a road block on the 28th june 2008, with boards for spraying, a halfpipe, food and booze and decks on the rooftop to entertain us. not only were the likes of mr jago, andy council, flx and more let loose on the boards set up around the street, but dicy got to work on a car that someone had driven into the area.

local fave, kid carpet, put in a set, but it wasn’t only tunes banging out on the rooftop, graf was going up too…

rooftop graf work
the sun beat down and drove us into what shade there was, which was dead handy, as we could watch some impromptu skateboarding at the back. knee-high kids to old-school vets queued and jumped the queue to jump a ramp – a never-ending source of entertainment. the half-pipe was well subscribed, as was the pub, come to that. reserves were running low last time i looked, which seemed like my cue to check out the progress of the graffiti on my way out and home.
so much easier than doin’ glastonbury!

so much good graffiti at glostonbury, bristol
